The 3Com® SuperStack® 3 Switch 4900 family provides multilayer Gigabit Ethernet switching in a versatile, affordable platform that's simple to scale and manage. These switches are designed especially for organizations with diverse and evolving bandwidth requirements that want to lower their price per port and cost per megabit.

For server farms and 10/100/1000 switching aggregation in wiring closets, the SuperStack 3 Switch 4924 provides 24 autosensing 10/100/1000 copper Ethernet ports, the 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4950 delivers multilayer Gigabit switching with 12 autosensing 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, 6 1000BASE-SX ports, and 6 1000BASE-x GBIC ports; the SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 is equipped with 12 autosensing 100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T ports, while the SuperStack Switch 4900 SX provides 12 1000BASE-SX ports.

For added scalability, all the switches feature an expansion slot that can accommodate an optional 4-port 1000BASE-LX, 1000BASE-SX, or 1000BASE-T module, or a 4-port GBIC module with a choice of GBICs (1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX, or 1000BASE-LH70 long-haul).

The SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 family support 3Com Gigabit Multilayer Switching software, which offers feature-rich Layer 2 functionality, Layer 3 switching for IP networks, and advanced traffic prioritization and security capabilities to accommodate the ever growing requirements of enterprise networks.
